​With over 25 years of race-bred engineering from Factory Five Racing, founder Mark Smith has applied the same design principles to Smyth kits: a combination of aluminum, fiberglass and industrial hardware that turn Dodge Chargers and VW Beetles into terrific "Utes" or sport trucks. That same engineering philosophy—focused on lightweight, structural design and a simple build process—is what led us to our latest project: an all-aluminum, bolt-together DIY teardrop trailer.
