The Smyth Teardrop is a market-first: the only high-precision, all-aluminum teardrop kit designed for the home builder. While others rely on plywood or fiberglass to keep costs down, we’ve utilized automotive-grade alloys to create a rot-proof, structural pod that redefines the DIY camper category.
Engineered for Generations: The Aluminum Advantage
We didn’t design these pods to be disposable. In an industry of "planned obsolescence" and rotting wood-frame trailers, the Smyth Teardrop is built to be the last camper you will ever need to own.
The Last Body You’ll Ever Buy
Our .090-thick aluminum shell and bonded 1x1" .125 structural frame aren't just for show—they are industrial-grade. This pod is essentially a permanent, corrosion-proof, and structural masterpiece. It is intentionally over-engineered to the point that the pod will, quite literally, outlive the trailer chassis it sits on. When your trailer tires wear out or the axle needs an upgrade years down the road, your Smyth shell will still be as rigid and weather-tight as the day you riveted it together.
Total Control: You Are the Engineer
Mass-produced trailers are built to a price point, not a performance standard. By choosing a Smyth Kit, you are opting out of the "factory-standard" gamble.
The Power of Choice: Because you are the builder, you control the final structural integrity. Whether you’re mounting it to a lightweight highway chassis or a heavy-duty, off-road overland frame, you dictate the build quality.
Race-Bred Materials: We provide the same high-grade aluminum alloys used in automotive fabrication. You are working with materials that don’t warp, don’t rot, and don’t fail.
Build It Your Way: You don't have to rely on a manufacturer's cheap rivets or hidden shortcuts. When you build a Smyth, you know exactly what is behind every panel, because you put it there.
This is more than a kit—it is the raw material to build the finest teardrop trailer on the road. You aren't just buying a camper; you’re reclaiming the right to build something that actually lasts.
